GreenEarth: an open social feed algorithm on Bluesky you fully control, tested to reduce polarization

Jonathan Stray's team launched GreenEarth, a modern algorithmic feed running on Bluesky and the open ATProto network — billed as the first social media recommender users fully control.
- Transparent and controllable: a settings panel exposes the whole ranking pipeline (candidate pool → value ranking → diversification adjustments); every stage is user-adjustable, choices normally buried deep in platform logic.
- Design goal: specifically built to bridge divisions between groups, scientifically tested to reduce polarization.
- Why Bluesky: it's currently the only app supporting third-party feed algorithms ("protocols not platforms"), and its lopsided user base is exactly where a bridging feed should help.
Open for anyone to try.
