Claude Code 2.1.234 Released: GitLab Integration, Security Fixes, and CLI Enhancements

Claude Code CLI version 2.1.234 is now available with the following updates:
New Features
- Added CLAUDECODEPROJECTDIRNAME environment variable for customizing per-project transcript directory names
- Added selection:clear keybinding action to clear in-app text selections
- Added GitLab merge request badge to footer and statusline, showing MR states (draft/pending/green)
Security & Fixes
- Fixed auto mode repeatedly re-checking/denying sandboxed network access in very long sessions
- Fixed session-scoped permission answers being dropped during background subagent prompts
- Fixed crash on non-streaming API response fallback
- Remote reads and uploads now reject NT-namespace paths (\??\) to block NT-path access
