In a lawsuit over a fatal Houston explosion, an expert witness hired by 3M admitted to using ChatGPT to write significant portions of his report. Investigations revealed the witness prompted the AI to generate content proving "3M is 0% at fault" and even asked the AI to help refine wording to withstand legal scrutiny. The plaintiff's attorney obtained 350 pages of chat logs, highlighting the discoverability of AI prompts in litigation and their potential embarrassing consequences.
