Local Model DeepSeek Helps Reverse Engineer Apple Thunderbolt RDMA
AccBalanced · x · 2026-08-17
A developer claims to have verified Apple's Thunderbolt RDMA protocol mapping by reverse-engineering the AppleThunderboltNHI kext with the help of a local DeepSeek model. Key details like XDomain header and UUID 0xFA57 were confirmed. The RDMA service is ready on the Spark device, with only the USB4 lane's SSPM gating remaining as the final barrier.
