Jonathan Wilke, founder of supastarter, says the next evolution of the product will center on growing and marketing a SaaS rather than just building it. He still believes a solid starter-kit codebase lets founders ship scalable SaaS faster and cheaper, but he observes a constant decline in customers' willingness to pay for boilerplate.
Everything beyond building — growth and marketing — remains a real struggle for most people even with AI capabilities, so that's where his focus will shift.
