SebAaltonen Tests Codex: AI Coding Still Needs Senior Expert
gdechichi · x · 2026-08-17
@gdechichi cites @SebAaltonen's example: using Codex to write an API similar to his blog post, AI generated lots of PIMPL classes, a Buffer class that internally allocates memory, command pools created every frame, and didn't understand requirements like unified image layout extension and PCI-E ReBAR. After a dozen iterations the API looks good, but a senior expert is still needed; AI can only speed up.
