Data shows Canadian founders have started 517 US companies, raising $414 billion in total. Nearly 9 in 10 of these founders were educated in Canada, and remarkably, 216 of them graduated from the University of Waterloo. Half of these companies were founded in the last two years, sparking debate about talent retention and policy in Canada.
