RTX 5090 turns full manga chapter into animated book in ~3 hours, fully automated and local
Ill-Ant-9489 · reddit · 2026-08-16
A developer built an automated pipeline using ComfyUI and MiniMax H3 that converts a raw manga/webtoon chapter (PDF) into an animated, scrollable web book with motion and sound. The pipeline: PDF import, automatic panel detection, local vision model generates motion prompts and reads speech bubbles, scenes are queued and generated, then reassembled. Measured: 99 pages → 97 animated scenes; on a single RTX 5090 fully local 3 hours, $0; on cheap spot GPU pods 90 min for $1.96 total ($0.02 per clip). Work in progress, optimizing cost, speed, and quality.
