CAKE paper proposes compiler-agent co-design

Tianqi Chen highlighted the CAKE paper, proposing that compiler-agent co-design is the next frontier in ML compilation and kernel agents. The core design of CAKE is that the compiler is not a fixed black box but co-evolves with the agent. It has no pre-set abstractions; the vocabulary is distilled by agents from production kernels. Patterns agents cannot express drive new primitives into the IR, and recurring layout bugs become verifier rules. The IR must co-evolve with kernels and workloads.
