Giving Agents Too Many Tools Degrades Performance: Less is More

Providing an agent with too many tools can actually make it worse. With dozens of overlapping tools, the model has more opportunities to choose the wrong one, misunderstand parameters, waste iterations, and make unnecessary calls. Design tools with clear boundaries. Fewer, well-designed tools are superior to many ambiguous ones.
