ECCV 2026 Paper: MVTrack Enables Ultra-Low Compute Video Tracking

rsasaki0109 · x · 2026-08-14

This paper presents MVTrack, an ultrafast moving object tracker operating directly on H.264 compressed bitstreams, accepted to the ECCV 2026 LoViF workshop. The system combines MVDet, a lightweight motion vector field detector, with MVLink, a minimalist kinematic association module. Experiments show that on the VIRAT dataset, the method outperforms YOLO26n while using 60× fewer parameters, requiring 40× fewer FLOPs, and reducing CPU latency by 8.6×. This demonstrates that compressed video data alone can enable accurate and scalable surveillance tracking.
