OpenAI Codex Wins Over Claude Code EAP User for Long Tasks
Funny-Future6224 · reddit · 2026-08-14
A heavy Claude Code user and Early Access Program participant shares a positive experience regarding OpenAI's Codex. Despite previously disliking Codex, they were highly impressed by its ability to handle long-running tasks over the past week.
The standout feature for the user was the lack of need to "babysit" the agent. Although they exhausted the weekly usage limit within a day and a half, they felt highly accomplished by the uninterrupted amount of work Codex managed to complete during that period.
