Slate: Open-Source Tool to Lock Character Voice & Look in H3 Video
HAL_9_0_0_0 · reddit · 2026-08-14
A developer shared Slate, a local web app designed to fix character voice and appearance drift in H3 video generation.
Key features include:
- Voice Wheels: Visualizes audio parameters (volume, pitch, timbre, etc.) with hover-to-preview playback, eliminating guesswork.
- Character Block: Uses a vision model to convert reference images into structured appearance profiles, preventing visual inconsistencies.
- Validation: Automatically checks dialogue syntax and duration grids before rendering.
Built in Python with no build step, it runs alongside ComfyUI. Due to H3 licensing, audio samples must be generated locally (taking 2.5 hours on an RTX 4090). The UI is currently in German, with camera movement and multi-shot support planned for the future.
