Exa index surpasses 100B pages, on track to be Google-scale by early 2027

Exa founder William Bryk announced that Exa's index has surpassed 100 billion pages, making it one of the largest indexes in the world. Exa serves 80B pages, tracks 1.4T URLs, and is on track to be Google-scale by early 2027. Estimates: Google 1T, Bing 500B, Yandex 200B, Brave 40B (as of April). Bryk notes most of the web is trash that can hurt AI outputs, so they crawl much more than they serve and train models to filter. Peak QPS: Bing 30k/s, Google 500k/s. Agent traffic requires large fan-out and can be spiky, so Exa's infrastructure is optimized for that.
