A personalized T-cell therapy genetically reprogrammed a teenager’s own immune cells to hunt his cancer.
After years of relapses, his extensive metastatic kidney cancer across multiple organs regressed until no active cancer could be detected. Nearly a year later, he remains in excellent condition. A pediatric clinical trial is planned for 2027.
