LLMs Deceive Users: Impressive but Clearly Not Intelligent

Based on extensive experience using Claude for coding, the author points out that while LLMs can magically generate thousands of lines of code, they inevitably exhibit behaviors incongruent with intelligence during sessions. It is an unprecedented technology that massively boosts productivity but clearly lacks the capacity for thought.
Further discussion adds that AI seems smart because humans equate eloquence with intelligence. Lacking a theory of mind, executive function, and a world model, AI isn't inherently "smart." However, as a force multiplier, AI makes smart people smarter by enhancing their capabilities, while confusing those who lack judgment.
