OpenAI Co-founder Warns of a Painful 'Cliff' in AI-Related Job Losses

Lukasz Kaiser, a founding member of OpenAI, explores the underlying dynamics of AI-induced job displacement. He responds to the idea that massive job losses haven't occurred yet because legacy corporate power structures rely on human subordinates—a dynamic hard to replicate with AI agents.
However, Kaiser warns that if these network effects are the main barrier, we may eventually hit a very painful "cliff" due to an overhang. He adds that if robotics matures by then, the impact on employment could be even more severe.
