IBL Open-Sources AI Agent for Neuroscience Data Analysis

The International Brain Laboratory (IBL) has open-sourced the IBL AI Agent, helping researchers use coding agents like OpenAI Codex or Claude Code to interactively analyze publicly available brain decision-making data.

The tool features a "scientist-in-the-loop" collaborative design. Researchers simply clone the repository and start their coding agent to allow the AI to write analysis code, generate plots, and publish reports. The AI handles initial data exploration and hypothesis refinement, while human scientists focus on final confirmatory analysis.
