Uber Teams Up with Wayve and Nissan to Bring Robotaxis to Tokyo by 2026

Uber announced plans to bring autonomous robotaxis to the streets of Japan. By the end of 2026, riders in Tokyo will be able to experience this next-generation mobility directly through the Uber app.

The pilot is a collaborative effort with Japanese taxi operator Hinomaru, automaker Nissan, and UK-based autonomous driving startup Wayve, aiming to transform urban mobility in one of the world's most dynamic cities.
