Harvard and U-M Release Structured Dataset of 186 Years of Institutional Decisions

Harvard Law School Library's IDI and the University of Michigan Library collaborated to release Institutional Proceedings, a new structured dataset.
Using an AI-assisted data-processing pipeline, the project transforms nearly 186 years of the University of Michigan's Board of Regents proceedings from page scans into structured data that can be searched, analyzed, and reused.
This initiative addresses the issue of organizational decisions being buried in physical volumes and prose, providing a foundation for using AI to track and study the historical evolution of institutions.
