Krawl: Defending Against Malicious Crawlers with AI-Generated Honeypots
tom_doerr · x · 2026-08-13
The open-source project Krawl is a modern, lightweight web honeypot server. It leverages AI-generated HTML templates and randomly generated decoy data to create realistic fake web applications with low-hanging vulnerabilities, such as exposed credentials, configuration files, and canary tokens.
The tool is designed to detect and track malicious attackers and web crawlers through deceptive pages. It supports quick deployment via Docker and Kubernetes, offering a new approach to defending against malicious scraping.
