Key Challenges in Deploying Robots: Sim2Real and Sensorimotor Gaps

As robots transition from demos to real-world deployment, developers are facing several core engineering challenges:
- Sim to real gap: A robot might work perfectly in simulation but fail in the real world due to messy physics—things slip, bend, and break.
- Sensorimotor gap: Humans perceive pressure, texture, vibration, and friction, whereas robots still receive a much weaker version of this feedback.
- Action representation: Even if a model understands the goal, translating that into the right physical movement for specific hardware is hard, making actions difficult to transfer across different robots.
