StasBekman · x · 2026-08-13
Snowflake AI Research and Cortex Code have trained a new 4B parameter SQL autocomplete model. Using context-grounded post-training and reinforcement learning, the model optimizes what and when to complete, even learning when to abstain.
Key Performance Highlights:
- Small beats Large: A 4B dense model outperformed their previous 30B-A3B MoE model.
- Precision: Internal precision jumped from 23.4% to 40.4%.
- User Acceptance: Actual user acceptance increased from 17.8% to 26.35% while serving 20% more suggestions.
- Latency: Inference latency was reduced by 71%.
