Elon Musk recently outlined a clear AI timeline, predicting that AI will surpass all human intelligence in about 5 years and that humans will most likely lose control within 10 years.
Despite the risks, his base case remains "an age of amazing abundance." He also warned that even if a stop button existed, we probably shouldn't press it. This perspective reframes AI from being just another tool to a force that will fundamentally alter humanity's destiny.
