Opinion: LLMs Will Destroy Self-Referential Science, Verifiability Becomes Engineering

The author argues that the widespread use of LLMs will strip away the self-referential aspects of scientific knowledge, reducing it to its bedrock. Verifiability will cease to be a social concept and will become an engineering problem, ending the 'free lunch' ideas of trust-based verification.
