METR Researcher Urges Frontier AI Employees to Join AI Risk Assessment Efforts

Marking his two-year anniversary at AI safety evaluation agency METR, researcher David Rein highlighted that AI risks are becoming a tangible reality. He admitted to being terrified by the scope of METR's ambition and the immense work still needed to ensure a safe AI trajectory.
He made a direct appeal to employees at frontier AI companies, encouraging them to join METR to help lead and develop their ambitious risk assessment programs.
