Ex-Cognition, OpenAI Alumni Launch Hone to Build Long-Horizon Autonomous Agents

AI startup Hone officially announced its launch, with a founding team comprising early core contributors from Cognition, Mercor, Ramp, and OpenAI.
The company points out a widening gap between frontier AI capabilities (having "PhDs on demand") and actual economic value derived, as most knowledge work remains unchanged.
Hone aims to close this gap by re-organizing work around organizational outcomes rather than individual tasks. They are building systems designed to run autonomously for weeks or months within real organizations, continuously creating and improving agents to own long-term objectives.
