Brainbase Launches Universal Managed Agents API: 50+ Models, 8 Harnesses
ycombinator · x · 2026-08-13
Brainbase introduced the Universal Managed Agents (UMA) API, expanding Anthropic's Claude Managed Agents to a broader ecosystem. Developers can deploy agents in secure sandboxes via a single API without managing infrastructure or credentials.
UMA supports 8+ major harnesses including Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, and is compatible with 50+ frontier and open-source models. Agents can be customized at creation using the open-source Universal Agent Protocol (UAP) for instructions, MCP servers, permissions, and secrets. The platform partners with sandbox providers like Modal, e2b, and Daytona.
