Huawei Noah's Ark Lab introduced RoboHarness, a novel robot control framework designed to let robots select the most appropriate tool for each specific task phase rather than relying on a single generalist model.

- Heterogeneous Policy Integration: Transforms various control systems—such as Vision-Language Models (VLMs), reinforcement learning policies, and traditional planners—into reusable, modular skills.
- Memory-Driven Orchestration: Leverages memory mechanisms to determine the best skill for the current step and ensures smooth handoffs, requiring no additional retraining of the underlying models.
Performance:
RoboHarness outperforms existing planning methods in long-horizon task planning and out-of-distribution (OOD) robustness. The framework's effectiveness was validated across 3 benchmarks, 500 custom tasks, and 135 real-robot experiments.
