JD.com Deploys Two-Wheeled Humanoid Robots in Supermarkets to Collect Teleop Data

CyberRobooo · x · 2026-08-13

JD's 7FRESH supermarkets have deployed two-wheeled humanoid robots across locations like Taiyuan to assist with restocking, shelving, product tasting, and guidance. Powered by VR teleoperation, these robots are provided by Beijing-based DexTeleop Robotics (TA2) under a strategic partnership with JD.

The core value of this deployment lies in data collection. By performing tasks in real-world operational scenarios across JD's 20,000 retail channels nationwide, the robots continuously gather high-quality teleoperation data. This proves the feasibility of using the physical world as the ultimate data center while achieving commercial success to feed back into embodied AI training.
