- Moving the goalposts: AGI is subconsciously defined as "what AI cannot yet do."
- Conceptual conflation: It is extremely difficult to imagine AGI without reaching for separate ideas like sentience or consciousness.
- Exposure limitations: Most people's primary experience with AI is via chat interfaces, rather than interacting with autonomous AI agents.
