Hugging Face Model Downloads Drop ~30%, Suspected Platform Filtering Change

Nato Lambert pointed out that a few weeks ago, nearly all models on Hugging Face experienced a sustained 30% reduction in daily downloads. This significant drop has made the August prediction on the @interconnectsai dashboard meaningfully lower.
He suspects that Hugging Face might have altered its traffic filtering mechanisms, such as aggressively blocking bots, and tagged co-founder Julien Chaumond for clarification.
