Atlassian Integrates AI Agents into Confluence for Co-editing

Atlassian announced a deep integration of AI agents into Confluence. Users can now directly @mention agents in documents and comments to assign tasks or have them co-edit in context.
Additional updates include:
- Presence Indicators: Agent avatars show online status when they are actively working on a document.
- Full Permissions: Agents can now comment, label, set statuses, and create whiteboards or databases just like a human teammate.
- Cross-Platform Support: Through the Atlassian Rovo MCP, the same agents can operate within Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or the user's IDE, reading and writing live pages rather than static copies.
The company revealed that teams currently run over 5 million agent invocations per month in Confluence, saving customers more than 200,000 hours in February alone.
