According to Bloomberg, South Korean chipmakers rallied as risk appetite returned to the market, supported by news of a major investment plan.
Asia Business Daily reported that Singapore's state fund, Temasek Holdings, plans to invest directly in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Driven by this positive news, shares of both companies briefly extended their gains to more than 8%.
