Industry analysts reveal that hyperscalers are still actively utilizing NVIDIA V100s, a GPU product released in 2017. This follows a recent revelation by CoreWeave that they have signed rental contracts for the A100—introduced in 2020—extending into 2029. The intense demand for AI compute is giving high-end GPUs an incredibly long useful lifespan of up to 9 years and counting.
