CMU's Max Simchowitz Joins Amazon FAR to Unify Robot Learning and Deep Learning

CMU researcher Max Simchowitz announced he will be splitting his time between CMU and Amazon's Foundational AI Research (FAR) over the next year.
His research focuses on creating a unified understanding of how scale, data, optimization, and control interact for robot learning. He aims to bridge the "science of robot learning" with large-scale "science of deep learning." Simchowitz is actively hiring full-time researchers and interns to build powerful multimodal AI models for hardware deployment and to explore architectures, optimizers, and VLAs.
