Spotify Will Label AI Persona Artists and Exclude Them from Algorithmic Recommendations
lilyraynyc · x · 2026-08-12
Starting in mid-September, Spotify will tag AI-generated artists with an "AI Persona" badge. The platform will not solely rely on self-disclosure but will also review profiles meeting specific audience thresholds to identify photorealistic AI identities.
Once labeled, music from these AI Personas will be excluded from Spotify's editorial and algorithmic recommendations by default, unless a user explicitly follows the artist.
