Benchmark Partner: Investors Are Undersizing the AI Market Again
AccBalanced · x · 2026-08-12
Benchmark partner Eric Vishria argues that investors are currently making the exact same mistake they made during the early days of cloud computing: massively underestimating the total addressable market of AI.
He recalls how in 2014, the consensus was that AWS would eat everything. Yet the market proved so vast that it supported hundreds of billions in value for competitors like Snowflake, Datadog, and Cloudflare.
He believes AI will follow the same trajectory. The market is simply too large for any single vendor to consume entirely. The interview also covers hardware buildouts via Cerebras, energy bottlenecks, and the future of robotics.
