Anthropic to Add Invisible Watermarks to Claude-Generated Text and Images

To comply with European AI transparency rules, Anthropic has pledged to mark Claude-generated text and images with machine-readable data.
The specific updates include embedding invisible watermarks in generated text and adding digitally signed provenance metadata to supported generated files. These changes will be invisible to human eyes but will make it easier for people and online platforms to detect if content was generated by Claude models. The company notes that these updates are a future commitment rather than an immediate rollout.
