Muse Glimmer Accused of Overthinking Simple Python Tasks
tacticaltweaker · reddit · 2026-08-11
A developer reported that the Muse Glimmer model exhibits severe 'overthinking' when used with OpenWebUI and a FastMCP server.
During a basic carwash test, while other models simply run a few lines of Python to return results, Glimmer attempted to compute emissions, rendering it practically useless. The author noted the issue persists across recommended sampling parameters, default templates, and various GGUF files, and is asking the community for ideas.
