AGI May Break Biological Interdependencies, Posing Real Risk of Hard Break from Bio-Life

The author points out that biological life is profoundly interdependent, spanning from animals and plants to microbiomes, food webs, and biogeochemical cycles. Given this complexity, it is not obvious that AGI will wish to maintain these dependencies. Consequently, a hard break from bio-life remains a real existential risk.
