AI Coding Paradigm Shift: Review the Plan, Not the Code

The author argues that traditional code PR reviews are obsolete when AI agents write the code, as humans can no longer realistically read every generated line.
The new best practice is to Shift Left: focus quality control on reviewing the AI-generated plan. Developers should rigorously interrogate and groom the plan—much like refining product requirements—checking for edge cases and even using another LLM for cross-verification. Flawless execution requires a flawless plan first.
