Hands-on with Claude Code: Auto-generating Follow-up Task Cards

dotey · x · 2026-08-11

The author shares a favorable experience with a feature in Claude Code: during a task, it proactively records non-main issues and turns them into follow-up task cards. This is similar to creating tracking tasks during code review without blocking the current merge.

Users can click the cards to execute these follow-up tasks, choosing to continue in the current chat, open a new one, or launch a cloud task. However, there are current UX inconveniences, such as having to process multiple cards one by one and the inability to select a model when opening a new chat. A workaround is to view the card details, copy the content, and manually merge it into a single prompt for Claude Code.
