LangChain Unveils Deepagents: The Second Cheapest Agent Harness

Harrison Chase, founder of LangChain, teased the new Deepagents project. He stated that the team did significant work slimming down the underlying harness, making it the second cheapest agent framework currently available.
This comes in response to prior discussions about existing tools like Claude Code being extremely token-hungry and driving up enterprise bills.
