Blockstream launches atomic swaps for Bitcoin and Lightning, citing AI-assisted attacks

Blockstream announced Blockstream Swaps, a trustless atomic swap service for Bitcoin, Liquid, and Lightning. It enables users to hold BTC or LBTC and pay Lightning invoices without managing channels or inbound liquidity, and reach Lightning from cold storage. The launch responds to Boltz's suspension due to AI-assisted attacks, which Boltz described as 'automated, AI-assisted probing' outpacing their patch speed. Blockstream says the service was already in development to enhance ecosystem resilience, complementing existing providers.
