Compute Outpaces Data: Researchers Propose Compute-Data (CD) Scaling Laws
burny_tech · x · 2026-08-11
Traditional Chinchilla scaling laws assume an endless supply of high-quality training data, an era that is now ending. While compute continues to grow exponentially, high-quality tokens do not. To address this, researchers propose Compute-Data (CD) scaling laws to measure the exchange rate between extra compute and fresh, high-quality data.
