Startup Discovered Materials announced a $9 million funding round led by Lightspeed India, with participation from Y Combinator and Paul Graham.
The company builds AI scientists designed to discover new materials for semiconductor chips. Alongside the funding, they released hundreds of new materials discovered using frontier AI models and open-sourced Material Discovery Bench, a benchmark for tracking progress in this domain.
