Researcher Neel Nanda Opens MATS Applications for Mechanistic Interpretability

Prominent mechanistic interpretability researcher Neel Nanda announced that his applications for the MATS (ML Alignment & Theory Scholars) program are open, with a deadline of September 4. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.
The application process requires candidates to spend a weekend completing a safety research task. Nanda noted that he has supervised 60 scholars so far, with each cohort improving in quality.
