Meta's Superintelligence Labs releases Muse Glimmer, its first open-source model: a 30B agent model that runs on consumer hardware with compressed weights, needing under 20GB memory. In an accompanying essay, Mark Zuckerberg aggressively defends distilling other labs' models and calls for fewer restrictions on US labs, directly countering OpenAI and Anthropic. An open-weight Muse Spark 1.2 is expected soon, per WSJ.
