Cloudflare Shifts to Continuous Trust Evaluation for AI Agents
emmanuelvivier · x · 2026-08-10
Cloudflare announced a shift in its bot mitigation strategy from point-in-time risk assessment to continuous trust evaluation to manage the growing ecosystem of AI agents.
As the internet transitions from human-driven to agent-driven, traditional single-visit blocking strategies are no longer effective. Cloudflare introduced systems like BotBase and Precursor to continuously evaluate whether a visitor is human or an automated agent by analyzing behavioral patterns such as cursor movements. Additionally, Cloudflare launched Radar Researcher, an AI-powered tool to explore global internet traffic data using natural language, and unified Workers AI and AI Gateway into a single control plane for improved observability and dynamic routing.
